Luna documentation

Luna is a messaging API for WhatsApp, built on Meta’s official WhatsApp Cloud API. Helsen operates as an approved Tech Provider, and no unofficial library takes part in the path. Luna delivers the messaging infrastructure, and what happens inside the conversation belongs to your product.

The path, from zero to a first message

  1. Create the account in the console. You confirm the e-mail and sign in.
  2. Connect a number. The number’s owner authorizes in Meta’s window. Connect a number
  3. Create an API key in the console, with only the scopes you need. Quickstart
  4. Register a webhook and verify the signature. Receive events
  5. Send a message. Send messages

If you would rather follow it in one go, the Quickstart walks through the five steps with examples that run.

The guides

  • Quickstart: from a new account to a sent message and a received event.
  • Connect a number: a new number, a number that stays on the WhatsApp Business app on the phone (coexistence), and a number coming from another provider.
  • Receive events: the endpoint, every event type, the delivery guarantees, retries, replay and signature verification.
  • Send messages: every message type, the 24-hour window, idempotency and following delivery.
  • Templates: create, follow the status, media header, and the difference between approved and cleared.
  • Errors: the error shape, the main codes, what to do about each, and the rate limit headers.

The API reference

The guides explain the path. Each route’s contract, field by field, is in the API reference, generated from the same definition that validates requests. The OpenAPI 3.1 specification is at openapi.json. If a guide disagrees with the reference, the reference wins.

Every call carries an API key in the Authorization header, in the form Bearer hlsn_.... The base is https://api.lunahia.com.br, and every route lives under /v1.

What Luna charges for, and what Meta charges for

Luna charges for the active-number capacity of the plan, and for nothing beyond that. WhatsApp platform usage is charged by Meta, directly to the end business, on the payment method it registers in its own account. Helsen does not intermediate that payment. The plans are on Pricing.
